Collins Vineyard, located two miles north of the town of Windsor, was planted in 1934 and produces rich, intense, complex wine. It was originally part of Limerick Lane Cellars, surrounding the home of winemaker Michael Collins. We are very fortunate to work with this old-vine, heritage Zinfandel.
Twelve bottles of wine from the 2021 vintage of WineWorks, the first produced at the Sebastopol winery. This package includes two bottles each of the Balletto Chardonnay, the Balletto and La Vista Pinot Noirs and three bottles each of the Emmitt-Scorsone Grenache and the Collins Vineyard Old-Vine Zinfandel.
Our Pinot Noir from Jon Sassin's La Vista Vineyard. This one-acre block of Pinot Noir, located a mile and a half north of the town of Graton, produces excellent Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The wine is dominated by a core of rich cherry fruit and offers a long, lingering finish.
A bright, delicate, medium ruby wine in the glass. The initial nose is restrained, offering up aromas of sassafras, briarwood and crushed red cherries. On the palate the young wine is again restrained, yielding up a core of Bing cherry and accented with flavors of ripe, wild strawberries and tobacco; the finish is exceptionally well balanced and long, ending with fine, integrated tannins and mouth-watering acidity.
